To make buying a season pass for Coronet Peak and The Remarkables or Mt Hutt more fun than usual, NZSki Ltd has listed 20 season passes on Trade Me with a reserve of just 1c.

In the build up to its Early Bird season pass sale which officially begins online at midnight on 12 February, the company has offered 10 Queenstown Passes (including Coronet Peak and The Remarkables) and 10 Mt Hutt Passes for auction. The auction begins today (Thursday 5 February) at 5pm and closes on Thursday 12 February at 5pm, just hours prior to the start of Early Bird sales for all three ski areas.

David Ovendale, NZSki Ltd General Manager – Sales and Marketing said that Trade Me provided a quirky and fun environment for the sale of the passes.

?¢‚Ǩ?ìThe Early Bird pass sale takes place mostly online and we thought this would be a fun way of getting people involved and raising awareness of the coming season and sales period. For skiers and boarders, the Early Bird sale is an exciting time. It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s when they start thinking about winter and organise themselves to grab a pass before the price goes up. The social media environment straddles our demographic and we think people might like to have a go and see if they can land a spectacular deal. And it?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ll be great fun watching what happens.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù

The season passes are being auctioned officially by NZSki and are non-transferable which means that once sold and allocated they can not be resold. All other normal terms and conditions apply and these can be found at www.nzski.com.

After the Trade Me auction, a range of discounted Early Bird passes will go on sale from 12 February until midnight 12 March offering the best possible prices for those who buy online at www.nzski.com.

Mr Ovendale said skiers and snowboarders could expect to see some exciting deals and a number of new products for Coronet Peak, Mt Hutt and The Remarkables and that full details would be revealed on the 12th.

?¢‚Ǩ?ìWe strongly encourage people to purchase online to obtain the best possible prices and take advantage of the Early Bird time payment option which enables people to pay for their passes in three installments.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù

This option is only available in the Early Bird period and is designed to help people manage their cash flow more easily.

The Early Bird offers are only available until 12 March, after which prices will increase to a shoulder (13 March – 5 June 2009) and then a main season rate.
