Gravity Festival

Mt Ruapehu’s Gravity Festival is taking place this weekend, with the schedule of events as follows:

  • Thursday: Freeriding day has been cancelled due to bad weather
  • Friday: Longboard IDF Qualifying race, with the potential for a Freeride race (dependent on timing and weather)
  • Saturday: Longboard IDF race
  • Sunday: Drift Trike freeriding (to be confirmed)

Please see the following supporting quotes from Simon Dickson, Executive Manager – Commercial, Ruapehu Alpine Lifts:

“The Freeride race today has been cancelled due to weather conditions, but we’re looking at the potential to hold a Freeride race amongst the Longboard IDF Qualifying races tomorrow. Weather conditions are looking fine and clear for the final IDF race on Saturday.

Ruapehu Alpine Lifts is looking to hold a Drift Trike Freeride day on Sunday for anyone who’s keen to test out their skills, participation is only $95. Please contact Ruapehu Alpine Lifts for confirmation on Saturday.

You can either register online, or print out a registration form and come along on the day.
