Let Your Adventure start with premium-quality Rexton G4
The all-new fourth generation Rexton takes SsangYong into a more premium space than any model previously offered by the South Korean automotive manufacturer, offering levels of equipment, luxury, refinement and practicality rarely, if ever found in vehicles priced at a mainstream level.
SsangYong is launching the Rexton G4 in two levels of trim and specification, the Sport and SPR, both powered by a 133kW/420Nm 2.2litre turbodiesel powerplant mated to a slick-shifting seven speed automatic transmission.
Both models feature four-wheel drive and are configured to seat seven occupants, and are rated to tow a braked trailer weighing 3.5 tonnes, the highest for an SUV in this sector.
Twenty-inch alloy wheels are standard on both models and both have a full-size spare wheel, a feature that is becoming less common in today’s environment.
Inside the luxurious cabin, a massive 9.2-inch touchscreen monitor houses the hi-res reverse camera and infotainment display, and features Apple Carplay and Google Android Auto as well as Bluetooth phone and audio functions.
Seating in the Rexton Sport is trimmed in a high-grade leatherette, while the SPR adds electrically adjustable Napa leather-clad seats with three memory settings as well as heating and cooling functions.
High quality leather quilting on the dash facia and door trim panels is also a feature of the Rexton SPR’s luxury cabin, and cabin ambience is further enhanced by soft blue mood lighting.
Also featured on the Rexton SPR are dark-tinted privacy glass in the rear, a seven-inch supervision instrument cluster, smart key entry and exit and a smart tailgate with a hands-free opening feature, offering drivers with arms full of shopping access to the rear hatch without the need to put the bags down.
The Rexton SPR features AEBS (autonomous emergency braking system), LCA (lane change assist), LDWS (lane departure warning system), HBA (high beam assist), nine airbags and a myriad of high-tech safety and convenience features.
GLMD’s managing director, Deon Cooper says, “We have been eagerly awaiting the Rexton. We were confident that it would be a high-quality vehicle, packed with features, but it has surpassed all expectations.
“Our dealers are excited to be offering the new Rexton and without exception, everybody who has seen and driven this vehicle is amazed at the quality, comfort, space and driving dynamics it offers. Our dealers are excited to be offering such a high class, premium quality SUV to their customers.”
The icing on the cake, is the 150,000km, five year fully-transferable warranty, the best new car warranty currently available on the New Zealand market.
Pricing for the Rexton Sport is $59,990 plus ORC and the Rexton SPR is priced at $67,990 plus ORC.
A two-wheel drive petrol model will be offered in January 2018.
