Hello,

Sorry for the late update on the first world cup of the season in La Molina, Spain. Alot of difficulties with finding internet. Anyway here we go.

I had a very exciting start to the season here in Spain. Everybody seemed very anxious to see where everybody was at leading into the first race. Including my self. Here in La Molina, the hill was very challangning, extremely steep and the snow was very hard from the abled body world cup they had here in early December.

We kicked off the races with the Giant Slalom race. Here I placed 5th. I was prety happy with this result, very positive way to start for me. Day 2 was another Giant Slalom race, Here I did not finish the 1st run coming out of the coarse near the bottom of the pitch. I tried to step it up to fast and blew out. I skied really well though untill that point.

Yay, day 3 the 1st Slalom event. Slalom is my specialty event and I was more anxious to see where I stand in this Discipline. I finished 1st run in 5th place, with a little hip check half way down the course nearly coming to a stop. I new I had to ski well in my 2nd run to get a podium. So I moved up a couple of gears and came away with the silver medal. Extremely happy about this.

Finally the day of the La, Molina tour. the 2nd Slalom, here in my first run it was set very difficult and I found it hard to get into my groove. After 1st run I was sitting in 4th. We refer 4th place as the rubber medal and this wasnt what I was after. I came away with the 2nd fastest time in the 2nd run by 1500ths, very close second run and finished with the bronze medal.

I felt pleased to start the world cup season with really consistant results and look only to improve from here. Right now I am not skiing my best, I am not looking at peaking for this season until end of feb, begining of march for world champs and world cup finals.

I have been spending the last couple of days in Barcelona, having some time out. I drive up to Seistrire, Italy tomorrow and begin the next leg latter in the week with the Super combined and Super G events. I am looking forward to going back here. We had the Paralympics here in 06, I will be looking at coming away with some better memories.

Cheers

Adam
