34 of the world’s best mountain bikers will return to Tasmania in Februay
Riders for the 2025 Red Bull Hardline Tasmania have been announced. The invite-only line-up will see 34 of the world’s best male and female mountain bikers return to Maydena Bike Park in Tasmania from 7-8th February 2025 in the second Australian edition of the world’s most daring downhill mountain bike event.

The riders for Red Bull Hardline Tasmania are hand-picked for their world-class talent and technique, both of which are essential for tackling Hardline’s trademark tracks and intense challenges.
Featured in the Red Bull Hardline Tasmania class of 2025 is Gee Atherton, who created the event with his brother, Dan Atherton, in Wales in 2014. The 2025 Tasmania edition will see Gee tackle the Australian course for the first time.
Gee Atherton will be joined by defending champ Rónán Dunne, who is aiming for a hat-trick after winning both the 2024 Red Bull Hardline Tasmania & Red Bull Hardline Wales competitions. Canada’s Gracey Hemstreet, who was awarded Rider of the Week at the inaugural Australian competition earlier this year, will also return to Tasmania in 2025.
Along with a list of global superstars, Australian riders Dan Booker, Darcy Coutts, Connor Fearon, Troy Brosnan and veteran Sam Hill have secured invites to Tasmania.
Tasmania’s Minister for Sports and Events, Nick Duigan, said mountain biking was recognised as one of Tasmania’s premiere tourism offerings and much-loved pastimes
“We are thrilled to see some of the world’ best male and female mountain bikers named in the line-up for the 2025 Red Bull Hardline Tasmania event returning to Maydena in February,” Minister Duigan said.
“We know the debut event was a roaring success and the event’s return is exciting for Tasmania and especially for those who love mountain biking.
“The Tasmanian Government is committed to growing our events sector and providing high quality sporting content around the state, which is why we’ve secured the event until 2026 with $1.4 million funding,” Minister Duigan continued.
In celebration of the lineup announcement, a special Just Ride podcast episode will be released. In the episode, co-host Rob Warner, who is one of the industry experts responsible for selecting Red Bull Hardline riders, will lead a discussion about the Tasmania Class of 25, which he describes as “…by far, the best Red Bull Hardline line-up we have ever seen.” To listen, tune in at redbull.com.

Red Bull Hardline Tasmania is a Gold Standard Trash Free Trails event. From encouraging attendees to bring their own water bottles, to training race marshals to collect litter left along the course, to collecting old kit to donate to a local youth cycling projects, the event encourages collaboration in a bid to ensure everyone leaves the location with even more than was here when Red Bull Hardline arrived.
