Anyone with any sort of adventure in their blood will visit the West Coast of the South Island at some stage. Apart from the stunning glacial valleys, rainforests and rugged coastline, a significant part of New Zealand pioneering history took place in the region. We were keen get the most out of my visit and find someone who had extensive experience of the region and could provide some background and history as well. Over the next five days, Adventure Magazine will be joining Adventure South NZ on the 200km Wilderness Trail from Ross to Greymouth and providing daily updates online.
