“THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MARATHON IN THE WORLD”:

Fullers360 Wharf to Wharf Waiheke Island opens for March 2020

The internationally-acclaimed marathon, fun run and ‘carnaval’ event, staged on the beautiful island of Waiheke in the Hauraki Gulf, is set to take place on Saturday 14 March 2020.  Registrations are now open.

Following the successful début of the inaugural measured marathon event in March 2019, the new organising committee chairman from Rotary, Nicola Hambly, says that interest from the international running community is high.

“The enquiries that are coming in from enthusiastic runners and walkers from all over the world are really exciting,” she says.  “We had a number of offshore competitors who came down for our début marathon event last year, and their feedback – about the gorgeous location and the challenging course – has been overwhelmingly positive.”

Registrations for the Fullers360 Wharf to Wharf open on Monday 12 August at 9.30am, with early-bird deals starting at $80 for the full marathon and $60 for the 25-kilometre run from Orapiu Wharf to Matiatia Wharf.

“We’ve kept our entry fees competitive again this year so that the whole family can join in.  And we are keeping the popular family-friendly deal for the 5K event: every paying adult registration gets to bring a child along to run or walk for free,” she says.

2020 will be the 29th year of the island’s most popular sporting and fun-run event, with all proceeds going to support the fantastic work of the Rotary Club of Waiheke.
