Mt Hutt – scheduled opening 5th June

Aside from winning New Zealand’s best ski resort* for the fifth year in a row, our biggest news this year is the improvements we have made to our snowmaking capability. With a new bore we are doubling our rate of water supply allowing our snowmakers to operate guns at a full flow for much longer. We’ve also added more fan guns and land guns to ensure the best quality snow is made where we need it.

*Mt Hutt was voted New Zealand’s Best Ski Resort in 2015, ’16, ’17, ’18 and ’19 at the World Ski Awards.

Coronet Peak – scheduled opening 13th June

On Coronet Express we will have the new 8x seater gondola cabins. In winter the gondola cabins will be used for foot passengers while skiers and boarders get the chairs. These will be great for anyone wanting to experience a ski resort but who doesn’t want to ski as they’ll be warm and dry inside. Guests can get out up the top and walk along our viewing platform for some awesome views over the Wakatipu basin.

Our Elevate Night Ski Parties* are also back. Three epic nights throughout the season with Australian and Kiwi artists on the stage for the ultimate après vibes! Here’s a wrap up from the parties last year – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4i-B41xQKA

*Dates and artists to be announced.

The Remarkables – scheduled opening 6th June

Our biggest news this winter is the opening of our new Sugar Bowl chairlift which will open up 2.5km of additional and improved trails.

Part of a $17 million project, The Doppelmayr D-line high-speed chairlift is the first of its kind in New Zealand bringing a new generation of chairlift design and technology to the country’s ski industry. The new lift will take guests from the base area and drop them off at the top of the terrain parks in just four minutes. It will also open a range of new terrain within the ski area that was previously tricky to access. It’s a whole new side of the mountain to explore.
