Adventure just got a little more accessible in the heart of Auckland. Outdoor gear giant Mountain Warehouse has opened its newest and biggest New Zealand flagship on Queen Street, and it is more than just another store opening. This is a 8,288 square foot statement that Auckland is a serious adventure hub.

The new location stretches across two floors packed with high-performance outdoor gear for trampers, travellers, and weekend warriors. It is the 26th store for the brand in Aotearoa and reflects a growing appetite for gear that works from bushline to backcountry. From waterproof jackets and walking boots to tents, packs, and family camping essentials, the full Mountain Warehouse range is now on offer right in the beating heart of the city.

Strategically positioned near Viaduct Harbour and the soon-to-open City Rail Link, the new store is more than just a retail outlet. It’s a launchpad for Aucklanders heading into the Waitākere Ranges, the Hunua trails, or even just a wet school run.

Founder Mark Neale summed it up: “Our new store on Queen Street is an exciting milestone for us as we continue to grow our presence in New Zealand. It’s an iconic shopping destination in Auckland, and we’re thrilled to share our passion for adventure and the great outdoors with the city’s residents.”

Since launching in 1997, Mountain Warehouse has expanded to 390 stores across nine countries. New Zealand is now its third-largest market worldwide, a sign that Kiwis are embracing quality kit that gets the job done without breaking the bank.

For outdoor lovers who like their gear tough, tested, and ready to go, this Queen Street location just became the newest basecamp.
