Tourist left clinging to 100m-high bridge after glass panels smash

A tourist in China was briefly trapped on a glass-bottomed bridge after high winds destroyed parts of the bridge, he can be seen here hanging on to a railing.

The glass bridge at Piyan Mountain, a scenic area in the northeastern province of Jilin, was struck by extreme winds on Friday.

In this photo distributed by state media, a man on the bridge was seen holding on to the railing, with the glass parts of the bridge missing. The man managed later find his way back to safety, according to the state news agency Xinhua.

These type of glass-bottom walkways and bridges are a common theme in China – some even with special effect cracking – this one went a bit too far!
