A smaller mother bear fiercely defends her two cubs against a formidable male. In this edge-of-your-seat video, the fearless mama bear keeps the brute at bay. The tension peaks as her cubs tumble down opposite sides of a slope. Just when it seems the male might snatch one of the cubs, the tenacious mother steps in.
The footage showcases the raw power and protective instincts of the grizzly. It’s a wild reminder of nature’s unpredictable moments and makes us grateful we don’t have bears in New Zealand!
